Sea spew

Sometimes ideas for miniature scenes evolve slowly over a matter of weeks. Other times they just hit me straight between the eyes and I wonder why I hadn't thought of it before. Today was one of those smack-me-in-the-gob type of moments.

Living on the coast, I often wander along the shores for a bit of down time. It's one of those 'reflect on your life' type of places with an ice-cream thrown in for good measure. I stumbled across a piece of driftwood...one of those lovely pieces, all twisted by the curl of the waves and sun bleached. How often have I've seen this kind of thing gracing the pages of modern interior magazines?
I picked up more wood, piling it into my Hubbies arms like a beachcomber gone mad. When I got home I pulled together a quick scene.
Don't you just love miniatures that cost nothing?

The side table is a driftwood branch cut down with a saw. The headboard is as it came from the beach and the modern sculpture is drilled, glued onto a steel rod and attached to a wooden block base.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm off to the beach again with a suitcase =0) Yo ho me hearties!
